Start: Tuesday, October 22, 2019 8:30 PM

End: Tuesday, October 22, 2019 9:30 PM

Shahid for Change stands in solidarity with Hong Kong's people and the widespread protests this year to oppose the introduction of the Fugitive Offenders amendment bill. This event, hosted by The Center for Political Education, the Chinese Progressive Association, and The Bauhinia Project will be an informative and powerful night focused on the struggle the Hong Kong protestors continue to endure. We will be leafleting for Shahid for Change outside this event as attendees leave.

Protests continue to escalate despite increasingly brutal crackdowns by the Chinese government. While the city of Hong Kong edges toward martial law, these protests have gained attention and support around the world. The speakers will discuss what caused and continues to fuel the uprisings, as well as what the future of this organizing may bring from Hong Kong to the Bay.
