Common Sense Economics

Start: Wednesday, April 29, 2015 5:30 PM

Common Sense Economics equips attendees with a strong foundational knowledge of how the current climate of growing economic inequality developed, and how we can begin to move towards economic policy that works for all Americans.

Attendees will be engaged in interactive activities and discussion that will help them to:

  • Identify ways in which they are negatively impacted by the current economy
  • Identify ways in which these economic outcomes are not inevitable, but are the result of public policy choices
  • Articulate how working people can change the direction of our national economy through mobilization
  • Understand what their role can be in reaching out to others with a specific message to get others engaged

This free event is sponsored by the Albany County Central Federation of Labor (ACCFL), The Capital Region Chapter of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU), the K.M. Chapter of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW), The Labor-Religion Coalition of New York State, Citizen Action of NY, and the Capital District Raise the Wage Coalition.
