Two years on from the fall of Kabul we are bringing together institutions and organisations to pledge our support to resettle more Afghan refugees in the UK.
Citizens UK has been pioneering the work around Community Sponsorship over the last few years and our recent work has been to establish Communities for Ukraine and setting the groundwork for Communities for Afghanistan.
Over the last few months, we have been meeting with Muslim institutions who are keen to play a bigger role in the refugee space and mapping out how communities can take more ownership to help resettle those fleeing war and persecution.
The event will be an opportunity to:
· Hear from those who have lived experience of resettlement routes to the UK
· Listen to Afghan refugees who were evacuated to the UK
· Find out more about Communities for Afghanistan
· Learn how to pledge support to resettle Afghans in the UK.
