COTTESLOE: Heads in the Sand!

Start: Sunday, March 07, 2021 3:00 PM

We are in a climate emergency - and yet those in power have their heads in the sand. This is the biggest collective challenge humanity has ever faced. That is not an exaggeration. It's time to act like the truth is real. It's time to declare a CLIMATE EMERGENCY!

What: Family friendly non-arrestable beach action! Heads in the sand - our own human sculpture to draw attention to government inaction on climate change

Where: Cottesloe Beach, Scupture by the Sea. Exact site to be decided once the sculptures are in place.

When: Sunday March 7th. Meet in the carpark near the Indiana Teahouse at 3 pm, Heads in the Sand at 4 pm on the dot.

Bring: a towel to keep the sand out of your hair, a trowel to dig, a placard on a stick to dig into the sand, a sign to pin on your bum e.g. 'Gas is Bad'.

Placard ideas: Heads in the Sand on Climate Emergency; Heads in the sand on Renewables; Heads in the Sand on our kids' future; Heads in the Sand on threat to our food and water; Heads in the Sand on fossil fuel subsidies... etc. etc.

Option: If you can't hold your head in a hole for five minutes: bring a pair of jeans stuffed tightly enough to stay in the air, and a pair of shoes to make it look real.
