Crab Park Cleanup

Start: Saturday, September 24, 202210:00 AM

End: Saturday, September 24, 2022 2:00 PM

Join Friends of the Eel River for a cleanup at Crab Park in Ferndale

Friends of the Eel River is an environmental nonprofit working for the recovery of the Wild and Scenic Eel River, its fisheries, and communities. FOER’s major focus right now is ensuring that Eel River dam removal happens swiftly so the Eel’s wild fish can access the hundreds of miles of cold-water headwaters habitat trapped behind the dams.

Volunteers who attend this event will be entered into our weekly prize raffle for a chance to win fun items from local businesses!

Cleanup supplies will be provided, but if you have any of your own gear you'd like to bring, please feel free. This could include gloves, a clipboard, and trash grabbers.

Here at the NEC, we put a big emphasis on data collection and citizen science. The data that our volunteers collect helps us advocate for solutions to the waste issues in our community. We collect data through the NOAA Marine Debris Tracker App, which is free to download from the App store. You can find a short tutorial video about how to use the app here. We will also have paper data cards available for anyone who prefers analog!

Please feel free to reach out with questions about the event. Hope to see you there!
