Our City Socialists in Office committee is excited to host a historic forum with two City Council members — Chi Osse (District 36) and Shahana Hanif (District 39) - who have requested to join CSiO. Following a resolution passed by the Citywide Leadership Committee in December, we will consider these candidates through a forum and a vote of the relevant branches.

This forum is a unique opportunity to hear from two NYC-DSA members in office who are looking to formally join our project in the City Council. In addition to hearing from the Council Members themselves, members will have a chance to ask both prospective CSiO members questions and debate the question with other members.

This forum is open to NYC-DSA members in good standing. The address for the forum will be sent out 24 hours in advance of the event. Members can also participate via Zoom.

We know there have been a lot of endorsement forums recently as our electoral project grows. Please note that these candidates are not seeking our endorsement! Instead, they are seeking to join with us in our fight to bring mass politics and the affordability agenda to City Hall. We hope you will join us at this crucial moment to discuss what this means for the future of our movement.
