An overwhelming majority of Australians support action on climate change. However, for the last 20 years, the Minerals Council of Australia [MCA] have manipulated our politicians and blocked any chance at the safe climate future we deserve.
Using the same dirty tactics as the tobacco, asbestos and gun lobbies, they have run coordinated campaigns of lobbying, ad campaigns, revolving doors between government and industry, and targeted political donations to block any attempt at progress towards a safe climate future. The truth is, Australia will never be part of the solution to climate change while the MCA have a stranglehold over our politicians.
If we can bring into the light, the dark and insidious influence of the fossil fuel lobby over our politicians and show their members that it’s toxic to associate your business with them we can undermine the power of the coal lobby so they can no longer hold back action on climate change.
