Daring Discussions: Black Women Are Architects of Our Movement

Start: Tuesday, March 13, 2018 6:30 PM

End: Tuesday, March 13, 2018 8:30 PM

We cordially invite you to join Women's March NYC (WM NYC) on Tuesday, March 13th for its inaugural event; a "daring discussion" that will explore why black women’s leadership matters in movement building, both historically and today. This candid conversation will be the first of many events and actions throughout 2018. We are eager to moderate a panel of activists and scholars that we feel best illustrate our collective belief that black women have been and will remain leaders of the resistance and architects of tomorrow.

Panelists: Erica Ford (CEO and Founder of LIFE, Camp Inc.), Jacqueline Bediako, (NYC Chapter leader of Million Hoodies) Jeanne Theoharis (Prof of Political Science at Brooklyn College) and Duanecia Evans, (Senior Managing Director, National Black Community Alliances at Teach For America).

Moderated by writer, producer and activist Agunda Okeyo of WM NYC.

Please join us for an evening of discussion and solidarity. Come meet our Panelists and the Women's March NYC Chapter to get activated in your communities! Light refreshments will be served. This event is intended for adults 21 years and older.  Registration Required.
