Please join the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence and La Clínica del Pueblo for an advanced training on providing culturally specific and relevant services to Latinx survivors of domestic violence in DC. This event will discuss the safety needs and considerations of Latinx survivors, and will provide advocates with tools and best practices for working with Latinx survivors in their programs and community. The 3-hour workshop will be led by Entre Amigas, and is designed for advocates and service providers working to empower survivors and their families in DC. The training will be conducted primarily in Spanish and spoken English, and additional interpretation is available upon request by emailing sthompson@dccadv.org.
About our facilitator:
Entre Amigas is the Health and Gender Program of La Clínica del Pueblo focused on the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of Latina immigrant women. Entre Amigas creates supportive networks and solidarity among women, where each participant strengthens her own health through her own beliefs, in her own language and at her own pace.
Since 1983, La Clínica del Pueblo has been addressing the distinct health needs of our community through comprehensive primary medical care with wrap-around services across the life spectrum; mental health and substance use treatment; medical interpretation and language access advocacy; community health including health education and safe spaces; and advocacy strategies to increase inclusion and health equity for Latino immigrants.
