DEADLINE FOR DAY CARE

Start: Wednesday, June 26, 202411:00 AM

The leadership of the North Carolina General Assembly has now made it clear that they do not plan to fulfill their constitutional and moral obligation to North Carolina's children and families.  Both the House and Senate released budget adjustments that don't come close to the bare minimum needed to stabilize child care in our state. But the reality is the leadership of the NC General Assembly now plans to go home at the end of this month with no budget adjustment in place and allow child care funding to fall off the cliff. This means thousands of children and families will be at risk of losing child care and even more will face diminished programming quality of care.

On June 12 we came to the General Assembly and delivered a Deadline for Day Care and let them know we would be back on June 26 to demand they stay in Raleigh until they have fully funded child care. Join child care providers, parents, faith leaders and North Carolinians of conscious out front of the NC General Assembly on Wednesday, June 26 at 11am to tell the leaders in Raleigh that North Carolina deserves better.

We are also mobilizing for the national Mass Poor People's & Low-Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls on June 29 in Washington DC. You can sign up for buses and more NC organizing opportunities for June 29 here.
