Liverpool John Lennon airport have got plans to expand their runaway. Their masterplan claims that it will "support up to 12,280 jobs by 2030, and add £625 million per annum to the economy of the Liverpool City Region".
But do airport expansion create jobs? Every fossil fuel or pollutive project is usually justified with the jobs argument. It is attractive to local communities and more likely to stifle any opposition. What is the reality behind the greenwashing.
