Discussion #1: Updates to Metro DC DSA's Electoral Endorsement Questionnaire
Start: 2021-04-25 14:00:00 UTC Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada) (GMT-04:00)
End: 2021-04-25 15:30:00 UTC Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada) (GMT-04:00)
This is a virtual event
This is the first of two events for Metro DC DSA chapter members to discuss updates to the chapter’s electoral endorsement questionnaire.
This event is hosted by the chapter's Political Engagement Committee and will be facilitated by PEC members Brad C and Nicole Z. The goal of this event will be for chapter members to discuss and offer suggestions for how the PEC should reform the chapter's electoral questionnaire. As stipulated by the chapter's bylaws, the PEC is responsible for periodically updating our questionnaire and then proposing the revised questionnaire to all chapter members for a vote. Our goal for this process will be to ensure that the chapter’s priorities and values are reflected in our candidate questionnaire, so that -- as a chapter -- we can learn whether a given candidate shares those priorities and values. Our questionnaire should also offer candidates a chance to share their analysis of the election at hand and how they view the political conditions of their jurisdiction.
Please see a rough agenda for this event below:
1. Meeting opening and goals
2. Review of current questionnaire
3. Review of sample questionnaires
4. Open discussion on priorities, analysis, and new questions
5. Meeting closing and next steps
This is a 90-minute long meeting, so there will be plenty of time for discussion, interaction, and planning among chapter members who attend. Please come with lots of ideas! As PEC members work to update the questionnaire, we will do our best to incorporate as much input from this form and live discussions as possible. If you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or post in the #steering channel on the chapter’s Slack.

*The reason there are two events is to offer
multiple times for chapter members to attend. The events will be
identical, but you can attend both if you'd like!
This event is open to DSA Members.
