Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, Monterey County
Branch, invites the public to a free, online screening of Disturbing the
Peace. The award-winning 2016 documentary follows former enemy
combatants - Israeli soldiers from elite units and Palestinian fighters,
who have joined together to challenge the status quo and say "enough."
The film reveals their transformational journeys from soldiers committed
to armed confrontation to nonviolent peace activists, leading to the
creation of Combatants for Peace.
Winner of the Roger Ebert
Humanitarian Award; Ebertfest, Most Valuable Documentary, and Cinema for
Peace, Conflict & Resolution winner.
