The EC collective agreement expires on June 21st. Before then, there’s one crucial step: vote on your bargaining priorities and on the dispute resolution process.
Voting on the bargaining platform and dispute resolution process is a major moment for EC members this bargaining year. Your decision will determine the path that negotiations take; that is, what issues can be negotiated and what options you have to win on them.
To find out what’s at stake and how to vote, join an important General Meeting on Bargaining hosted by the newly elected 2026-2027 EC Bargaining Committee. The meetings will be scheduled for 60 minutes with the EC Bargaining Team presentation lasting 40 minutes or less. The committee will present:
- General trends from the EC bargaining survey
- The tentative bargaining platform, and
- Factors to consider when voting for either the conciliation or arbitration path.
Accommodations and support
- If you are not in the Eastern time zone, and the only information sessions you are able to attend fall during your work hours, please email national@acep-cape.ca to request union leave.
- If you require childcare to attend, you can request reimbursement according to CAPE’s Family Care Policy by emailing national@acep-cape.ca
- If you are unable to attend one of the ten meetings, please contact CAPE at national@acep-cape.ca before June 5th about alternative means of hearing the bargaining committee recommendations and the meeting.
Vote
The vote on the bargaining platform and the dispute mechanism process will take place online, via Simply Voting, from June 10th at 9am ET to June 17th at 9am ET.
In order to vote, you must be a registered CAPE member. Register as a CAPE member.
