Electoral Organizing Deep Dive | National DSA Training Series (Day 2)
Start: Sunday, April 27, 2025•01:30 PM
End: Sunday, April 27, 2025•04:30 PM
Metro DC DSA's electoral program can knock 80,000 people's doors in a year and has 4 endorsed electeds in office, but to win the world we need we must tackle more and bigger races than ever before. So we need your help! For anyone interested in learning about electoral organizing, the Electoral Working Group is hosting a two-day electoral organizing training series facilitated by the National DSA electoral staff organizer Milo, who helped us set up the Uncommitted Maryland campaign and is visiting us this weekend.
Day 2 will take place on Sunday, April 27 from 1:30 - 4:30pm at Anacostia Neighborhood Library and Zoom (RSVP for the link). NOT Shepherd Park Library, our earlier reservation there was cancelled. Electoral Organizing Deep Dive is designed for members interested helping coordinate campaigns in 2025 and 2026, and will cover topics such as:
- Brainstorming aspects of a campaign/field plan
- The Big 5 and campaign systems
- Community building
- Connecting pressure campaigns/tactics and elections
- Ladders of engagement
- Electoral list work
Day 1 of the training is on Saturday, April 26 from 2:30 - 5:30pm at Petworth Neighborhood Library, and focuses on a broader outline of the chapter's electoral program and how it fits into our overall political strategy. You can do the second day without doing the first, and vice versa, but we recommend both for the full experience!
There will also be a social afterward at 5, please RSVP so we know how many to expect!
This training is part of the PEC’s work on General Resolution 4 passed at the 2021 convention: Building Electoral Power and Accountability.
