Emergency Tax Bill Protest: Wall Street

Start: Tuesday, December 19, 201712:00 PM

On Tuesday, December 19, at noon, activists from labor unions and community and political organizations will take our demand to the heart of corporate finance, Wall Street. We will demonstrate against the tax bill and disrupt business as usual. Our message? Stop the tax giveaway to Wall Street and the rich! Tax the rich, not the poor!

We need everyone. Make it a priority to be there. Sign up here to come, and let us know if you also want to participate in a peaceful action that risks arrest. A coalition of experienced progressive groups will provide training and support.

Training for action that risks arrest at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday—details to follow

The protest is being organized by progressive groups that have come together to take action in this emergency. Organizations working to make it happen include the Professional Staff Congress/CUNY, New York Communities for Change, the New York State Council of Churches, the New York State Nurses Association, the Working Families Party, People’s Climate Movement, Rutgers University AAUP/AFT, Hedge Clippers, Strong Economy for All, and others. We are working in coordination with protests this week in Washington D.C., and across New York State.
