Emerson UU Justice Advocates - Indivisible ACTion Team

Start: Wednesday, April 19, 2017 7:00 PM

At our first meeting we set a number of Action items. The first was to get certified as Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrars. There will be such a certification training offered by representatives from the Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector & Voter Registrar's office on April 19, 6:00  pm sharp, Room 205 at Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church. After getting certified, we can have some refreshments and start our 2nd meeting planning future events. There is a lot to do!

There is no question that the massive popular uprising  in support of affordable health care for Americans was a significant factor in the Trump administration's "pulling" their disastrous repeal and replace plan. This is not the end of this issue! Those that wanted to deny health care to the elderly and the poor to give the wealthy tax breaks will be back with similar ideas to weaken and ruin the Affordable Care Act. They will be chomping at the bit to ram through legislation regarding so-called tax "reform" to benefit the 1% and be very busy enacting their draconian budget proposals. We can't allow these outcomes. Now is not the time to take a break over the clear win on health care! Celebrate? Of course, as long as that celebration does not translate into Complacency! Let's use our energy to plan future ACTions to keep our momentum going! Join us, April 19!

Please RSVP and feel free to bring a friend and an tasty item to share.
