End Abuse at LAs Port - Hosted by SCLC

Start: Thursday, November 09, 2017 5:30 PM

End: Thursday, November 09, 2017 8:00 PM

Truth Commission on Poverty, Racism, and Exploitation on City of LA Property

Hosted by SCLC of Southern California’s Poor People’s Campaign
Co-sponsored by LA City Councilmember Curren Price, Council District 9

Join us in hearing testimonies presented by warehouse workers and truck drivers who move the goods that flow through LA’s Port. These workers will expose the abuses and injustices they face daily as they work on City property for corporations that move goods for major retailers – such as Amazon, Target, and Lowes – and how it hurts our communities.

Together, these workers have been standing up to win respect and dignity. Come join community and faith leaders in bearing witness to the workers’ stories and how we can end the abuse at our City’s Port.

Thursday, November 9, 5:30-8pm

Phillips Temple CME Church, 973 E 43rd St., Los Angeles, CA 90011
Pastor Bernard M. Jackson

Dinner begins at 5:30pm. Program begins at 6pm
