EXTINCTION REBELLION - WHO ARE WE?

We are in the midst of a climate and ecological emergency, the scale of which is unprecedented in human history. Yet our government sits on their hands and is failing miserably in their duty to protect people from this existential threat. There is no shortage of ideas about what can be done. What is lacking is the political will to act with the speed and urgency requires to prevent the worst case scenarios unfolding.

Extinction Rebellion is an international apolitical network using civil disobedience as a strategy to persuade governments to act on the climate and ecological emergency. The clear message is - WE WANT TO LIVE!

This induction session comes in four parts:

  1. A brief summary of the dire situation we are facing.
  2. Why Extinction Rebellion is using civil disobedience as a strategy - our theory of change.
  3. How we work as a self-organising system unleashing the energy and creativity of all members.
  4. How to get involved - connecting with other local people to take action together and supporting each other.

This workshop is the next step for those who’ve seen our Heading for Extinction talk (can be watched online) and wish to contribute their skills and passion to the movement.
