As we welcome fall, it's time for an update on Fair Districts’ redistricting reform bills. Please join us for a Southwest Region Volunteer Zoom Session on Tuesday, October 7 at 7:00 pm. Note that this meeting will focus on planning for southwest PA counties outside Allegheny County.

In addition to updating our progress to date, we will discuss next steps for Southwest legislator outreach including messaging, Polling Place Outreach opportunities, and other actions you can take to help “move the needle” on reform. There will also be time for Q&A.

As you may know, we had a productive summer collecting signatures at several events, contacting our legislators, and securing additional co-sponsors for our bills. And our great Southwest region volunteer Doug Webster and Jodi Reese from the state FDPA group collaborated on an excellent essay on the Legislature's dysfunction which appeared in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. With gerrymandering taking center stage nationally due to mid-cycle Congressional redistricting in several states, we need your help more than ever to ask your legislator to support an Independent Redistricting Commission to protect Pennsylvania voters.
