Feb 1 Canvass for Shayla Adams-Stafford
Start: Saturday, February 01, 2025•11:00 AM
End: Saturday, February 01, 2025• 2:00 PM
Join Metro DC DSA and our Prince George's County Branch as we show up in force for our newest endorsed candidate Shayla Adams-Stafford, the working class champion we need representing District 5 on the Prince George's County Council. Shayla is a former Teacher's Union shop steward, has led the fight on the school board to replace cops with counselors, and fought developers to get strong project labor agreements on public school construction.
We'll knock doors to tell voters about Shayla on Saturday, February 1st at 11am, starting from the Progressive Maryland Office at 4500 Forbes Boulevard, Lanham MD 20706. We'll coordinate shuttles from the nearby New Carrolton Metro Station at 10:45am so we can get to the launch on time. Please indicate on the form if you can help provide rides or will need a ride and we'll follow up with you.
We'll knock doors until about 2pm and meet up at a restaurant or bar afterward to debrief. Dress warmly and bring snacks and water, we'll provide hand warmers! Make sure to RSVP so we can update you if we get snowed out or our starting location moves.
This race will decide the balance of power on a County Council split 5-5 between corporate developer interests and progressives. Lobbyist money and establishment Democrat endorsements are starting to pour into the race against Shayla; We're still ahead but we need your help! The Special Election ends on March 4, but ballots get mailed out in mid-January, so every weekend counts. Will you RSVP to help us get Shayla across the finish line?
