Was your dinner last night good for the climate?

We cannot meet our climate mitigation goals without addressing food-related greenhouse gas emissions. But what does reducing these emissions look like in practice?

You are invited to learn more at our virtual table! Join the Maryland Campaign for Environmental Human Rights (MDEHR) on Thursday, February 23 at 7pm on Zoom for a conversation about the connection between food systems and climate change with Raychel Santo, Program Officer at the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future.

Learn more about:

  • What is a food system? Why should we care about it?

  • How is climate change affecting our food system, and how do food systems exacerbate climate change?

  • What is included in a healthy, sustainable diet?

  • How do inequities in the food system affect our health and ability to eat more climate-friendly diets?

  • What is food policy and how can it make a difference?

  • What changes can I make?

  • What systemic changes should I advocate for?

Raychel Santo is a Program Officer at the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future, where she has worked in various roles for the past 12 years.
