We’re now six months into the chaos of this second Trump administration, and among the latest horrors is the passage of “One Big Beautiful Bill” — the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in a single law in U.S. history, and a massive increase in funding for militarized immigrant detentions through ICE. This is an onslaught meant to overwhelm us and make us feel powerless. But we are not powerless when we're organized, and we're still fighting for someone we don't know.

Join us on this call to learn more about how DSA members across the country are fighting to defend and expand the rights of trans and migrant communities, standing up against Musk's billionaire coup and standing with workers, elect socialist champions to office all over the country, and more! Find out what action you can take today to fight alongside us against fascism and authoritarianism and for a world where we all have dignity and liberation.

We will be joined by:

  • Daniel Denvir, the host of The Dig podcast on politics, history, and economics everywhere; and the author of All-American Nativism: How the Bipartisan War on Immigrants Explains Politics as We Know It.

  • Eman Abdelhadi, a scholar, organizer and writer. She is an assistant professor and sociologist at the University of Chicago, writes a column for In These Times Magazine and is co-author of Everything for Everyone: An Oral History of the New York Commune, 2052-2072, a sci-fi novel published in 2022 with Common Notions Press.

  • Astra Taylor, cofounder of the Debt Collective and the director of the documentary films What Is Democracy? Zizek! and Examined Life. She has written for The New York Times, The L.A. Times, The Baffler, n+1 and other outlets. She is the author of The People’s Platform: Taking Back Power and Culture in the Digital Age and Democracy May Not Exist, but We'll Miss It When It's Gone.

  • Olivia Katbi is co-chair of Portland DSA and a longtime organizer with the BDS Movement.

  • DSA national co-chairs Ashik Siddique and Megan Romer, and DSA organizers of electoral, labor, trans rights, & migrant rights campaigns!

We know that it is only through our organized power that we can truly fight back against fascism. When we organize, we can win the whole world.
