The United Nations Advocates of Greater Richmond is sponsoring a program on Saturday, December 8th at 10:00 am at Virginia Union University. The program is “Focus on Immigration and Refugee Rights.” Complete details and instructions to sign up follow.

The United Nations Advocates of Greater Richmond is a new group that has recently formed in order to create a local chapter of the United Nations Association of the United States of America.  These chapters work to support the UN in its work throughout the world, and they help to connect local issues with global ones.  

As part of this effort, the new group is sponsoring a program in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Please join us as we explore the complex issues of poverty, violence, and failed states that result in the massive relocation of human populations globally. Our panel will discuss evolving American policy resulting in immigration and refugee resettlement.
