Wednesday, Jan 27, the bad fracking bill, H B 191 was passed by the Florida House.  Our House member, Jimmie T Smith, a tool for the fracked gas industry, of course supports it.  Senator Dean,  has promised to always vote NO on Senate Bill 318, the bill that gives Rick Scott's DEP the authority to overrule home rule.  There will be one more committee stop before the senate version lands on the senate floor.  

I'll make this short and sweet, we simply cannot allow our beautiful state to be fouled by cancer-causing chemicals, that will make their way into our fragile aquifer, and into our drinking water.  This Saturday, January 30, there are protests and rallies all across Florida, and we're going to hold one in Inverness at the Old Courthouse.  Our intention is to let Senator Dean know we expect him to speak out more forcefully against the fracking industry, and more vigorously defend our wonderful waters he claims to care so much about.  For some reason, Dean skipped the last committee vote, when it was so important to show he is not supportive of fracking on our fragile system.
