Who is Ashley Diamond? Ashley Diamond is a Black trans woman and prisoners' rights activist. She made national headlines in 2016 for her landmark victory against the Georgia Department of Corrections. Ashley has since been re-imprisoned because of a technical parole violation and is currently incarcerated at Coastal State Prison in Garden City, Georgia. Her situation is urgent-she has faced repeated sexual assault and denial of healthcare, which has only been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. You can read more about Ashley’s story and find out how to get involved at freeashleydiamond.com.

Who is the #FreeAshleyNow team? Free Ashley Diamond is a survivor-led effort focused on decreasing Ashley’s isolation while she is incarcerated, freeing her from prison, and creating community support that continues beyond her release. Free Ashley Diamond was created by a group of prison abolitionists, and engages people from around the world to support the call to free Ashley Diamond while raising awareness about criminalized survivorship and the prison industrial complex.
