From Angela to Mariame: How Feminists Construct Abolition Reading Group Week 1
Start: Sunday, April 16, 2023• 6:00 PM
This reading group on abolition and Black feminism is timed to coincide with Mama's Day Bail Out.
As feminists, we understand how important prison abolition is. This reading list raises awareness of the many facets of police violence and the criminal justice system that affects people whose issues are often overlooked in favor of focusing on the experiences of cis men. This reading group examines these intersections while focusing on the Black feminist thinkers who shaped the movement.
We will meet weekly on Sundays for 5 weeks from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., starting on April 16, 2023, and ending on May 14, 2023.
