Gasland Grassroots Tour: Callicoon, NY

Callicoon, NY Josh Fox, director of the 2011 Academy Award-nominated documentary Gasland, will present a free screening of his new film Gasland Part II at 10:30 AM Saturday June 8, 2013 at the Callicoon Theater, 30 Upper Main Street in Callicoon, NY. Mr. Fox will be on hand to answer questions after the screening.
“The film features ordinary Americans whose lives have been upended by the dirty and dangerous process of fracking", says Fox, who is working with grassroots organizations all across the country to protect public health and water supplies from the known risks associated with fracking. “We need to educate ourselves and our elected leaders and together demand an alternative.", added Fox who says Federal and state officials are failing to protect the public.
This free event will be hosted by Catskill Citizens for Safe Energy, Catskill Mountainkeeper and Damascus Citizens for Sustainability. Seating is limited; for reservations contact any one of these organizations:

The Callicoon screenings is one stop on a national tour. Fox is partnering with local anti-fracking organizations all across the country to raise awareness of critical energy issues. He invites the public to, “Watch the film, listen to the folks who tell their stories, and open your eyes. Question if oil and gas industries are influencing our elected officials and government agencies, and urge them to move vigorously toward renewable energy.”
