Getting Into Step! An Open Meeting with the Arts and Culture Team of the New York State Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival

On Tuesday, May 11th we'll meet for an open meeting where we'll sing and reflect on where we — the poor and dispossessed of New York City — are and where we are going! You need not identify as an artist or cultural worker to attend, as we offer that creativity is power that exists in all of us and by utilizing creativity in a collective way, we can win human rights for all. This is what history and our movement ancestors have taught us: that together we rise.

During this meeting our culture team will share more about the 500 Days Fighting Forward Together Coordinated Action Plan recently announced by the Poor People's Campaign, and highlight the way arts and culture is being used in the campaign to build a movement to end poverty.

If you can, before the meeting check out the most recent policy briefing from the Kairos Center, "The 140 Million" is a Theory of Change." We will share how we as artists and cultural organizers are part of the 140 million and discuss how we must build a fusion movement to address the systemic crises of growing inequality in an age of great abundance.

Forward together!
