Health and Sustainability: Core Design Principals for Multifamily Housing

Find out how integrating health, wellness and sustainability into multifamily project design is becoming more cost-effective, and typically reduces operating costs. Dmitry Gourkine of Ledg Capital will share how health and sustainability in the built environment are core to design principals in their workforce housing developments nationwide. Philippe Hartley of CleanEnergy LLC, a project finance company, will demonstrate affordable financing options for new buildings and retrofits. Philippe will also share examples of green multifamily housing projects, ranging from low-income to assisted living, to luxury apartments that net utility savings for owners and tenants. This panel will offer valuable information and resources for building and financing energy efficiency, water conservation, solar energy, back-up storage EV charging and more.

Philippe founded CleanEnergy in 2014 to help accelerate financing for the small-to-medium (sub-$5MM) commercial smart energy sector. A California-licensed general and electrical contractor, Philippe spent years running a solar installation company. He knows first-hand that financing can be the make-or-break part of a project. Since 2004, Philippe has overseen, sold, managed or financed thousands of solar projects at the residential, commercial and industrial level. Now focused on helping to make US building infrastructure better, he is a national expert on Commercial PACE financing, and tax structures. “Yesterday was all about solar” says Philippe “but today it’s about efficiency: time, resource, productivity and financial efficiency. In the end, that is what we contribute.” Philippe is a regular guest writer on project finance for Renewable Energy World and Solar Power World magazines.
