Public Meeting on Zoom. Tuesday April 20th, 7.00 - 8.15pm

How can we create a fairer, greener future for our borough?

Right now, we’re facing a huge employment crisis in the UK, which has had a devastating impact on places like Haringey. We need a game-changing plan from the government to create millions of new well-paid, secure and future-proof green jobs. Green jobs aren't just about home insulation and renewable energy - they can be any work that provides a decent livelihood whilst supporting a low-carbon future, such as key worker jobs like teaching, health and social care. In this virtual event, we’ll hear panellists from local businesses, trade unions and policy experts about how we can tackle climate change while creating good and sustainable jobs. Join us to hear a range of speakers and share your own questions and comments.

Speakers include:

Yvonne Field, Founder & CEO of The Ubele Initiative

Despina Johnson, CEO of Enterprise Enfield & North London Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise

Denis Fernando, Climate Campaigner at Friends of the Earth

Edward Harlow, Haringey District, National Education Union

This event will be live captioned.
