Green New Deal for Public Schools SBK Tabling

Start: Saturday, September 18, 202112:00 PM

End: Saturday, September 18, 2021 3:00 PM

On Saturday, Sept. 18, join your South Brooklyn neighbors and SBK-DSA as we talk with parents, teachers, students and community members about the Green New Deal for Public Schools! We'll talk with passerby at a table, and also walk around the park collecting signatures for a petition calling on Congress to pass a bill that would require our schools to be updated into the classrooms that students and teachers need.

No prior experience is needed, and kids are welcome! This event is for everyone.
Every day, millions of public school students, teachers, and staff work and learn in crumbling, unventilated buildings that swelter in summer and freeze in winter.

And schools in District 38 are particularly overcrowded and understaffed, lacking a proper number of teachers and counselors, and the space to teach. The GND4PS
will invest $1.4 trillion over ten years in America's K-12 public schools to build the carbon-free, climate resilient schools of tomorrow. This is the money our schools are owed, and we know that it will dramatically improve our community. It's critical that we call on the legislature to fund our schools!
