Hands Across the Potomac

Start: Saturday, October 14, 201712:00 PM

On October 14th, join hands with hundreds of concerned West Virginia and Maryland residents as they stand in solidarity to stop the Potomac Pipeline. In a powerful demonstration we will stretch out across the James Rumsey Bridge hand in hand to stand together and say NO to the proposed fracked-gas pipeline that would run from Bedford County, PA through Hancock, Maryland and end in Berkeley, WV. TransCanada, the same company that spilled over 16,000 gallons of oil on South Dakota farmland, is now proposing a fracked-gas pipeline that would drill horizontally underneath the Potomac River.

We know that pipelines leak. We know that pipelines and fracked-gas increase the threat of climate change and harm our neighbors from Maryland to Texas to Florida to West Virignia. Now is the time to join hands and stand for a frack-free future and say No Potomac Pipeline.

On and around October 14, communities across the world are coming together for a global protest to call for a ban on fracking, a dangerous method of drilling for natural gas that puts our air, water, climate and communities at risk.
