In 2022, Marston elected its first ever Green Councillor - Alistair Morris. In 2024, we have a unique opportunity to get a second Green elected in the ward: the brilliant Kate Robinson.

On Saturday 10 February, we will be speaking to residents about their issues and delivering hundreds of leaflets communicating our priorities for the city.

By joining us for a day of doorknocking and leafleting, you can help reach hundreds of voters with the Green message, and help get more Greens elected to Oxford City Council. If you're uncomfortable with doorknocking, we'll also be delivering leaflets across the area too.

There will be a briefing before the campaigning session so whether you've never campaigned in an election before, are a canvassing expert or anything in between, your time will be incredibly valuable.

  • 10.30am - Welcome and briefing
  • 11.00am - First campaign session
  • 1pm - Lunch
  • 2pm - Second campaign session
  • 4pm - Tea and wrap up

Please note - details of where to meet will be emailed to you upon registration.

Oxford currently has six Green Party Councillors. They're already making a real difference. In the last year, Greens have:

  • Pushed the city council to adopt a pioneering policy on trans rights.
  • Delivered a scheme of free period products in public buildings, including community centres
  • Been at the heart of efforts to clean up transport - pushing for low traffic neighbourhoods and better active travel infrastructure.
  • Persuaded the Council to call for the government to allow councils to control private sector rents.
  • Got the City Council to call for Thames Water to clean up its act on pollution, and called for water to be taken into public ownership.

But there's only so much six Greens can do. That's why it's vital more Greens are elected.

We are campaigning hard across Oxford to retain our existing Councillors, and send an even bigger group into the City Council in 2024.
