New research, published in October 2024 by Stay Grounded, New Economics Foundation, Ecologistas en Acción and further organisations, proposes how this could be implement in Europe, and what its effects would be.

This would raise €64bn without any cost to the majority of people. Aviation emissions would drop by 21%, mainly caused by just 5% of people flying less.
