Did you know that healthcare workers experience nearly two-thirds of all reported workplace assaults?Nurses and other healthcare workers are at high risk of assault and verbal abuse—and too often, they are told that it’s just part of the job.Workplace violence—threats, bullying and assaults—can be reduced or prevented.
Come learn about OSHA’s guidance for creating a workplace violence prevention program, how the union can work with management on prevention strategies, and how New Jersey law protects healthcare workers from workplace violence

Stopping Workplace Bullying
Workplace bullying is a huge problem within healthcare, causing many nurses to leave the profession.Whether perpetrated by managers or co-workers, bullying often goes unchecked.Victims may feel demoralized and often experience the symptoms of chronic stress – including fatigue, high blood-pressure, and depression.

This workshop describes the impact of the problem and provides strategies the union can use to protect those who are bullied and begin to change the culture of bullying.

Toolkit Training:   Skills for Creating a Workplace Violence Prevention Program
Gain the skills needed to develop a workplace violence prevention program based on New Jersey’s law and OSHA’s guidance.Learn what to look for in the data, how to inspect the workplace for risks, and how to conduct an investigation after an incident.

This workshop builds on knowledge gained in the first session, providing critical information to take back to your unit.

You can receive up to 6 contact hours with attendance.  Must be present the entire day.
Registration starts at 8:30 am
