Local newspapers are under attack in Hudson Valley.

Corporate news chain Gannett is slashing and burning America’s local papers – including the Journal News, Poughkeepsie Journal, and Times Herald-Record – and shrinking vital local coverage, laying off local journalists who report on the information you need to stay safe and connected to your community.

Journalists in the Hudson Valley are organizing with The NewsGuild-CWA to fight back against corporate takeover of our communities and our newsrooms.

And we need your help!

Join union journalists with Hudson Valley NewsGuild for a Virtual Town hall on Wednesday February 28, 2024 at 7:30PM EST to learn how we can protect our local news coverage.

Local elected officials and community leaders will join journalists to talk about how Gannett’s mismanagement has hurt communities up and down the Hudson Valley. Featured guests include Westchester County Executive George Latimer and Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.
