Indigenous Youth Organizing Academy


The California Native Vote Project is excited to announce that our Youth Organizing team has created a virtual four day Indigenous Youth Organizing Academy (IYOA) with topics centered on education, community building and leadership development. Session topics include: relationship building, understanding historic movements, highlighting our relationships with land and one another, community mobilization/civic engagement and self care.

Who: Self-identified AI/AN and Indigenous youth and young adults in Southern California and Northern California ages 12-24.

Dates/Time: 3:00pm - 6:30pm

  4. Thursday, July 29th
Why: Strengthen youth leadership to advance our community power, and support the next generation of leaders.

Stipend: We will be providing stipends to the first 60 youth to register & will be given to participants ages 12-24yr and residing within California. It will also be dependent on how many sessions youth participate in:

$25.00 - 1 full day and active participation*
$50.00 - 2 full days and active participation
$75.00 - 3 full days and active participation
$125.00 - All 4 days ($25.00 bonus for active participants)


UPDATE 7/14/21: The Indigenous Youth Organizing Academy’s planning committee is excited to announce we have space for up to 40 more spots open for youth to register who can also receive a stipend (if eligible)!

*Active participation will be defined as follows: speaking up or asking questions, participating in breakout room discussions, using the Zoom chat feature, turning on video, and just being present throughout each session.
