Start: Tuesday, August 17, 2021• 9:00 AM
End: Tuesday, August 17, 2021•12:00 PM
A wide variety of workers in healthcare and non-healthcare
settings may be at risk of exposure to infectious diseases. When workers are
routinely in contact with individuals or materials potentially contaminated by
infectious agents their risk for exposure is heightened. Especially when standard
precautions are not in place or practiced.
This training will:
- Provide workers with the skills and knowledge to protect themselves and their communities from potential exposure to high-risk pathogens, contaminated materials, or infected individuals.
- Increase awareness on standard precautions and to minimize contact exposure to infectious disease(s).
- Link coordinated infection prevention and occupational health approaches to workers at various levels and facilities.
Specific diseases of concern to be reviewed during the class include: Coronavirus, Influenza, HIV, Measles, Mumps, Hepatitis, Ebola and much more.
