World BEYOND War (WBW) is excited to announce the Peace Education and Action for Impact project, a cross-cultural, intergenerational project conceived and developed in collaboration with the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP).

Today, there are some 1.8 billion young people 10 to 24 years of age in the world – the largest and fastest growing demographic on the planet. When it comes to sustainable peace and development, it is necessary to engage all generations. However, although increasing numbers of young people around the world are striving for peace and related areas of progress, far too many young people find themselves routinely excluded from peace and security decision-making processes that affect them and their communities. To this end, equipping young people with the skills, networks, and support to build and sustain peace is one of the largest, most global and important challenges facing humanity.

In this context, and with regards to the need to bridge the gap between the study of peace and its practical application, World BEYOND War is developing a new project entitled Peace Education and Action for Impact. This project is the result of an ongoing collaboration with the Rotary Action Group for Peace. The project is aimed at preparing young peacebuilders to advance positive change in themselves, their communities, and beyond. The project is built around core strands of peace education and peace action and will involve intergenerational collaboration and cross-cultural learning across the Global North and South.

To find out more about this project, and ways to get involved, please join WBW and the RAGFP on March 22 at 2:00pm Pacific Time / 5:00pm Eastern Time / 9:00pm GMT for the first of a series of info sessions. All are welcome to this friendly meeting, which will also be a time for networking and sharing.
