Inside Iran: Book Talk with Medea Benjamin
Start: August 12, 2018• 4:00 PM
End: August 12, 2018• 6:00 PM
Join us on August 12 in L.A. for a book talk with CODEPINK Co-Founder Medea Benjamin! Medea is traveling the country, and the world, with her new book, Inside Iran: The Real History and Politics of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The book answers key questions about the disastrous consequences of
U.S. military intervention in Iran, and how decades of Western sanctions
have impacted daily life for Iranians. It also highlights the efforts
of Iranian activists advocating for a more democratic society.
Medea's work is so timely, given Trump's recent decision to pull the U.S. out of the Iran nuclear agreement. As tension heightens between the U.S. and Iran, Medea helps describe the history of our country's relationship with Iran and how we can pave the way forward for peace, in spite of U.S. warmongering.
At the event, Medea will also talk about the Divest from the War Machine campaign, and how we can move our cities, universities, pension funds, and politicians to stop supporting companies that make a killing on killing.
CODEPINK is selling event tickets for $10, or $25 for a ticket + a signed copy of the book. Tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance of the event here. Additional copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.
