International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons in Ghedi

Start: Sunday, September 26, 202110:00 AM

The "International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons" is celebrated on 26 September, an opportunity to spread awareness of the need and urgency of global and permanent disarmament. To date, there is still a long way to go to achieve this goal.

On the other hand, the situation regarding the universalization of the Treaty for the banning of nuclear weapons (TPWN) sees the overall signature of 86 states, 55 of which have ratified it and brought it into force . In Europe it has only been ratified by Austria, the Vatican, Ireland, Malta and San Marino.

Precisely because there is still so much work to be done in this direction, we call everyone on 26 September at 10 in front of the military base in Ghedi in support of the "Italy, think again" campaign to raise awareness and recall Italy to the urgent need to adopt a legally binding instrument for the ban and dismantling of nuclear weapons.

The initiative is promoted by the Italian Peace and Disarmament Network, Acli Provinciali di Brescia APS, Provincial Coordination of Local Bodies for Peace and International Cooperation - Brescia, Casa della Pace di Parma, Missione Oggi, Non Violent Movement, Opal, Pax Christi , Members of Banca Etica - Brescia, Fridays For Future.
