As the climate and ecological emergency unfolds, and we move ever closer to the point of no return for the loss of all we hold dear, it’s time to step up and do whatever it takes to Reclaim Our Future. It’s time to do what needs to be done, not just what is easy to do.

Reclaim Our Future is a series of escalating disruptive actions, powered by Extinction Rebellion, focussed on the Federal Government in the lead-up to the departure of the Australian delegation to the international climate negotiations in November (COP 26). We are using this period in which the eyes of the world are upon us to draw national and international attention to the abysmal performance of our national government. Our political representatives are failing to act on their duty of care to protect us from climate catastrophe.

This emergency grows dire every day as our actions grow desperate.  In Budget week in May trucks blockaded Parliament House for hours with messages such as "Declare a Climate Emergency'. During the August sittings we had the amazing 'Duty of Care' actions culminating in the burning pram and mass imprisonment. Next is 'Reclaim Our Future' during the Parliamentary sitting weeks in October, this is an occupation - a place to call home till we can return home victorious.

Covid-19 restrictions mean we need to be adaptable and flexible. Unless we are still in lockdown, Reclaim Our Future will go ahead. See you there.
