Minneapolis police murdered George Floyd. Louisville police murdered Breonna Taylor. White supremacists murdered Ahmaud Arbery. Before them, there were thousands more.

Meanwhile, Black and indigenous people are dying disproportionately from COVID, and the man in the White House continues to incite violence, while pushing millions of people back to work in unsafe conditions. Others will not have jobs for months, and many are struggling to choose between feeding themselves or paying rent.

Black Minneapolis residents - and thousands more in solidarity - are rising up in revolt of yet another black life stolen. In Washington state, Yakima farmworkers are coming together to strike, demanding safe conditions and hazard pay.

In this moment, how do we continue to build power for a broad movement demanding economic justice and freedom from oppression? How do we strengthen our solidarity? And finally, what can we do in Seattle to show up for our communities and demand change?

Join Seattle DSA for our June Membership meeting, where we'll hear from Robin Wonsley, a Minneapolis DSA member, BLM activist, and labor organizer! Together we'll process the events in Minneapolis, hear from striking farm workers and organizers in Yakima, and discuss Seattle DSA's response. We'll also talk briefly about how SDSA can go all out for the final month to collect signatures for the campaign to Tax Amazon for Green New Homes.
