Brilliant Green candidate Kate Robinson was less than 150 votes short in Marston in May. Following the general election campaign, we have a unique opportunity to get her elected this July in a special by-election!
Join us for a day of leafleting, and door knocking to ensure Marston voters know about this important by-election and all the work Greens have been doing in our community.
There will be a briefing before the campaigning session so whether you've never campaigned in an election before, are a canvassing expert or anything in between, your time will be incredibly valuable.
- 10:30am - First meeting and leafleting session
- 1:00pm - Lunch time
- 4.30pm - End
Please note - details of where to meet will be emailed to you upon registration. Do check your junk inbox if you don't receive an email.
The amazing Al Morris has had to stand down and we intend to keep his seat. Kate is a local librarian, co-founder of the community garden and supports a host of community initiatives. You can help reach hundreds of voters with the Green message, and help raise the Green voice across Oxford.
Oxford currently has eight Green Party Councillors. They're already making a real difference. In the last year, Greens have:
- Pushed the city council to adopt a pioneering policy on trans rights.
- Secured a commitment from the Council to roll out a scheme of free period products.
- Been at the heart of efforts to clean up transport - pushing for low traffic neighbourhoods and better active travel infrastructure.
- Persuaded the Council to call for the government to allow councils to control private sector rents.
- Got the City Council to call for Thames Water to clean up its act on pollution, and called for water to be taken into public ownership.
