Kerrville Meeting: Tue Feb 21 at 9:00 am

Start: February 21, 2017 9:00 AM

Update regarding the proposed meeting in Kerrville on Tuesday, Feb. 21

Perhaps you have heard that there was a rally held in Kerrville last Thursday. Thirty seven
folks from communities in Kerr, Blanco, Gillespie, and Kendall counties gathered at Lamar Smith's office to request a town hall meeting. The Kerrville Daily Times and nother local weekly newspapers covered the rally. We received front page coverage in the Daily Times!  This was an unprecedented event in Kerrville and we know that we got Rep. Smith's attention.

We want to build on this tremendous momentum for the long effort ahead of us. We are counting on you to join us in taking the next step to achieve achieve our long-term goal: unseat Lamar Smith and create a populist wave that will impact policy decisions in Washington!

Call to action

We believe that the best strategy, rather than holding another rally so soon, is to apply our enthusiasm to a long-term strategy that will help us accomplish our goals. To that end, please join us in making visits to Rep. Smith's office in Kerrville. Making office visits, and making phone calls, are the core tactics of the Indivisible movement. We know that Rep. Smith feels comfortable and safe from criticism in the Hill Country. We want him to know that we're here and are not satisfied with his leadership or policy decisions in Washington.

Elsewhere in District 21, Tuesdays are the designated day for making office visits. In San Antonio, there is a well organized group that meets on Tuesday mornings for breakfast, then visits the offices of Smith, Cruz, and Cornyn. This structure is a good option for those who may feel uncomfortable visiting on their own or who may be interested in meeting other like-minded folks. Another option is to visit anytime you can during his office hours, which are Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am to noon.

Laura Kramer of Kerrville and Terry Casparis of Johnson City are kicking off this effort by inviting those interested to meet for breakfast and discussion at Rio Ranch Cafe – 2590 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, TX 78028 on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 9:00 am. If you can't make it on Tuesday, please click on the link to sign up to make an office visit at another date and time: Meetings at Lamar Smith's Kerrville Office. The link brings up a spreadsheet that includes the Kerrville office address and a few tips to help make your visit a success.
