Key Bike Safety Hearing at Cambridge City Hall

Start: Tuesday, October 10, 2017 4:00 PM

End: Tuesday, October 10, 2017 6:00 PM

The City Council's Neighborhood and Long Term Planning committee will be meeting Tuesday, Oct 10, 4-6pm, to discuss the protected bike lanes recently installed on Cambridge St, Mass Ave, and Brattle St, and the City's plan for installing a network of protected bike lanes across the City.

A good turnout at this meeting is important because despite overwhelming public support for the protected bike lanes, a few vocal opponents of the new infrastructure have surfaced in recent weeks. We need to show City leaders that people in Cambridge need and want this type of safe infrastructure to be kept, improved, and deployed widely across the city.

Please join us and speak about how important the new lanes are to you. Bring your kids! Bring you parents! Bring a friend! And definitely bring yourself.

A quick message to council@cambridgema.gov, citymanager@cambridgema.gov, and copying info@cambridgebikesafety.org, letting the Council and City Manager know that you plan to come (or would like to come but can't make it) and explaining why a complete network is so important to you will be helpful, too.

Please RSVP if you plan to come so we can get a headcount.
