We need a socialist Green New Deal.

Labour for a Green New Deal is building a strong left coalition - in local communities, in trade unions and in the Labour party.

Join Labour for a Green New Deal with speakers from across the Left to relaunch our campaign and start organising together for a socialist, green future led for and by working class people.

Speakers will include

  • Chris Saltmarsh - co-founder of Labour for a Green New Deal

  • Jamie Driscoll - mayor of North of the Tyne since 2019 who is building a local green new deal for the region

  • Lauren Townsend - Labour for a Green New Deal Spokesperson and Labour councillor in Milton Keynes

  • Andrew Glassford - part of the Greater Manchester Labour for a Green New Deal local group and a coordinator of the Retrofit Get In project

  • Scarlett Westbrook - youth climate activist and school climate striker


At the 2019 Labour Party Conference, a Green New Deal motion was overwhelmingly passed which committed the party to radical policies of large-scale investment and green job creation, and ambitious public ownership programmes, while working towards decarbonisation by 2030.

In developing these policies, our movement will work with trade unions to provide a jobs guarantee across transition industries: street by street, plant by plant, job by job. It was Labour which founded the NHS in 1948, and Labour which can develop a transformational Green New Deal Now.

During the chaos of coronavirus, we used 2020 as a time to reorganise and restrategise. As we relaunch, join us to find out how the campaign has expanded to consider internationalism in the green new deal and how you can be involved in making a just, green future a reality for all.
