Even though we started AdBlock Leeds nearly two years ago, the pandemic, some life events and being generally super busy tackling ad issues has kept us from properly introducing ourselves to the city of Leeds. So here it goes! The AdBlock Leeds launching event will take place on the 13th November at 3pm!

During the event, we will have presentations covering the following topics:
- Introduction of AdBlock Leeds,what we do and why we do it and show how you can help
- The impacts of advertisement on the use of resources and planetary boundaries
- The wider network of anti-advertising activism and some national campaigns
- Leeds-based examples of how art can improve our streets and reclaim public spaces

We will also have an interactive session with tea and coffee where attendees can express their views on the problems with advertising and help us shape how Leeds could look like if we put residents' well being at the core of planning policies.

The event will take place at the Heart Centre in Headingley, in the Claremont room. The room can accommodate up to 30 people and is accessible to wheelchair users. We will try to keep the room well ventilated and have hand sanitiser available during the event. If you can, we recommend that you wear a mask.

After the event, around 5pm, we will have some drinks at Heart with whoever wants to stay and have a chat.
