[LEEDS] How to Shut Elbit Down

Start: Sunday, February 26, 2023 3:00 PM

Palestine Action will lay siege on Israel's arms factory in Leicester from May 1st. Hear the talk on why and how we'll shut Elbit Down together by Rapper Lowkey and Palestine Action. Join us on Sunday 26th February 3-5PM at Wharf Chambers, 23-25 Wharf St, Leeds, LS2 7EQ.

Every day Palestinians are under siege they face constant surveillance, every move is monitored, homes demolished, their families killed in the streets, and their freedom deprived. 232 Palestinians were murdered by their occupier last year alone. The repression of the indigenous population of Palestine is facilitated by Western nations: none less so than Britain.

The zionist colonial forces manufacture their arms out of Britain, and our role is therefore clear and urgent: to take out their weapons factories. Israel’s largest arms company, Elbit Systems, maintains 8 sites across Britain – including arms factories which ship weapons directly to Israel. Elbit's weapons are also sold on to Western nations - arms they market as 'battle-tested' on Palestinians. The people of Palestine, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Iraq and Yemen have all been the targets of Elbit's 'tested' weapons.

Petitions, lobbying, and all appeals to the British establishment to end their century-long complicity in the colonisation of Palestine have failed. But we know, and Elbit knows, that they are vulnerable when people take action. Through direct action, Palestine Action has cost Elbit their arms factory in Oldham, London Headquarters and over £280million in contracts with the Ministry of Defence.

In 2023, we're ramping up this campaign, and we'll need to take along every person who stands in solidarity with Palestinians in their struggle for liberation. Are you with us?
